Last week we had our first newborn session of the year (yay!) and welcoming us into 2018 was the beautiful Addison only 12 days old, along with her Nan; Deb, Mum; Brenna and Dad; Matt.
I was itching to get back in the studio in the New Year and was so pleased to have this gorgeous family in the studio.
Miss Addi was an absolute dream to photograph only waking a few times to have a little nosey look around and a quick feed, Her parents and nan are completely besotted by this little girl, watching her throughout the session with overwhelming pride. I could tell how much love she was surrounded with.
As I setup a stunning lace tepee prop Mumma Brenna could not contain her excitement, telling me that they have been looking to get her a little play tepee and this was perfectly fitting for her sweet little babe. To which I was happy to make her dream a reality.
They brought along a beautiful little floral romper and a bespoke crocheted blanket made by Nan that I fell in love with, there’s something so special about using a handmade item or family heirloom in a session as I always envision these photographs being spread on a kitchen table in 70 years from now and the stories about that special blanket being shared from generation to generation.
That to me is exactly why I am completely smitten with photography and capturing the breathtaking first weeks of a new little person that just entered the world. I know that this new little family will absolutely cherish them as well- which is the icing on the cake.
